Well, actually my day didn't start out that bad...just the past 30 minutes or so; but it was enough to ruin my otherwise prolific day.
Anyway, I was cleaning and unpacking my stuff all morning and the better part of the afternoon. After clearing my mess, I decided to head over to this furniture shop a few blocks away to order my computer table. So there I was feeling smug at being able to get the salespeople to give me half the price of the delivery fee only. I boarded the jeep and just sat there texting my sis. I was about a block away (and thank God it was a block away!) when something happened. It's a bit unclear whether I was holding my mobile or I've already had it in my sling bag but just didn't get around to closing it...but my phone fell!
Off the jeep!
After that everything was a blur. All I know was the the other women in the jeep with me were shrieking coz the phone was in the middle of the street. And for a street that had been particularly inactive the entire day (I should know I've been observing the traffic the entire day), it was suddenly packed. To my horror, I saw that the tire of the taxi following us was in line to where my phone lay
; it was a good thing that the driver did see that something fell off the jeep (God bless him). But the red car behind the taxi was heading towards it too! By that time I had already jumped off the jeep and was running towards my phone. Looking back I think I looked like some crazy woman waving stop to the cars...and yeah, all the cars did stop.
I snatched my phone off the street and WAH!!! saw the huge dent on my phone.
I was a bit disoriented after that. I just walked around a bit and thought I'd go to McDonald's for an order of fries before I realized I didn't have small bills for any sort of purchase I wanted to make. So I walked on home without much regard with the traffic. So there. That should teach me to listen to my mom when she said not to keep holding my phone especially when I'm in a public transpo.
When I got home, I got this call from a call center who wanted to interview me for a financial planning position. Unfortunately I can't remember applying for the position. In any case, I decided not to give it a go since the guy was insisting only on either a 12 noon Monday interview or an afternoon interview on Tuesday. It wasn't that I was busy...okay, so maybe Monday wasn't good since I was waiting for a delivery and I have to meet with my supplier, but Tuesday would've been fine. I think I decided not to go because the interview was going to be at The Fort. One of the places I really hated going to. Plus this was a call center for crying out loud. I'm sure they'd expect me to sacrifice my regular sleeping hours and heck, no matter how much they pay me that's not gonna happen.
Then when I switched on the TV, the news came on. LPG increased by another 50c per kg. That makes 470 per 11kg tank!
How in heaven's name do they expect people to do business around here???
